How It All Works

This is not an explanation of how the system itself works in terms of the programs, but how it fits into your school or college and is able to run in such a flexible way.

The system is set up on a web server that you have in your school. While this can sound complicated and expensive, everything that you need is free and can be set up within a couple of hours.

You can use an old computer off your existing network or buy a new one. The software that you install on it is all free and does not require you to buy any licenses for anything. The system is designed to run on the Linux operating system which is open source and available for free download.

Once the computer is set up, you install our software (and the recommended third party packages as well if you choose to) on it and transfer your student's data to it from your admin programs. Only non sensitive attainment data is stored on the machine.

With this all done, you can now configure the system to your own needs by following our setup instructions.

Alternatively, you can get us to do all this for you and support you for the year, although we do charge for this service.
